Bye, 25. Hello, 26.
I feel like 26 is a milestone. The reason this birthday feels significant didn't occur to me at first. I finally realized that it has been 10 years since I was 16. Sixteen was the first year I received my first dose of freedom. I started driving, received my own car and really began to think about the next 10 or so years ahead. I remembering setting goals about college, my future career and what type of relationships I would maintain with friends and family.
Although I don't remember my exact 16-year-old thoughts and goals, I think my high school self would be impressed.
A look back on 25:
✔️ Promotion at work
✔️ Set a consistent workout routine
✔️ Traveled to at least one new place - Palm Springs, Sonoma & Napa
✔️ Left the country - BVI
✔️ Found a solid group of friends in Austin
✔️ Continued to grow as an individual
✔️ Made family time the number one priority
A Look forward to 26:
Find a new challenge in my career to take it to the next level
Leave the country at least once
Discover a new place
Do a hiking trek / take a solo trip
Plan a reunion with old friends
Continue to improve my health / workout routine
To celebrate, I had an amazing Birthday party with close friends in Austin and then went home for the Labor Day weekend to continue the celebration at the lake. I am one happy girl.
