1. El Equinox
There is this small taco shack a few streets over from my place. It is no one my favorites because it has a drive threw... and good breakfast tacos. The best part though is their coffee selection. Unlike most taco places in the area, this place has some great choices. My favorite is the El Equinox. It is to die for. It is Mexican horchata with a shot or expresso.
2. Swimming Holes
This Texan heat has got me loving the natural springs in Austin. (When there is water) The springs stay at a cool 65 degrees. We are going through a bit of a dry spell this August, but a month ago you couldn't get me to leave. Bring a case of cold ones and jump on in. This particular spring is Twin Falls. Other good ones include Sculpture Falls, Hamilton Pool and Barton Springs.
3. Succulents
Couldn't be more in love with succulents right now. Every time I see them being sold I just want to buy one. I have to will myself not to or my tiny apartment would be covered. They are just so cute and small. I unfortunately don't have a green thumb, and they die on me all the time. Luckily, they aren't that expensive, so I keep replacing them.
4. Summer Cocktails
Who doesn't like a summer cocktail? Happy hours are my jam. This particular drink is from Jacoby's on East Cesar Chavez in Austin. It's called the Mezcal Margarita. It's refreshing, tasty and at one of the coolest hidden gems in Austin. Jacob's has an amazing back patio. It's so Austin.
5. Beer Gardens
With craft beer and fresh pizzas, The Austin Beer Garden Brewery is the perfect place for a large group of friends on a warm summer night. Live music, outdoor seating and plenty of seating this place is the perfect hang-out.
Always, Maddi
