When you're just starting out on your own, taking a "first" vacation is important. It's almost like a mile marker on the road to adulthood. It is a very empowering feeling being able to road trip or fly to a destination to relax with a mojito in hand.

Today is my birthday! I can't believe another year has already come and gone. Reflecting back on the past year so much has happened. I started a new job, settled into a new city and had many ups and downs while doing so. Even though, life wasn't perfect I learned so much, traveled the country and spent time with loved ones. I am beyond thankful for my loving family, my supportive boyfriend, my great job and my amazing friends.

I'm nostalgic for back-to-school shopping! The other day, I found myself thinking I needed new office supplies because of the Target display of colorful gel pens and Sharpies.
There is just something exciting about picking out brand new supplies to fill your trapper keeper, or buying a pair of shoes to match your first day of school outfit. I guess nowadays I'll just reminisce about my purple monogrammed L.L. Bean backpack and light-up Sketchers.
